Advice from Dad

Yesterday afternoon, I had a message from my Dad: 'pay close attention to your meeting tomorrow, as it will be of benefit to your search [for enough gainful employment here on the Hill.]'

I found this interesting, because Dad rarely intervenes in my life without my asking his advice on some subject. And, as I had two meetings planned -one with an artist and her husband, and the other with one of the shops - I was curious to see which would be 'of benefit'. The meeting with Lissa and Kurt was very nice. I feel very much at home with artists and artisans and am happily able to function in both right and left-brained ways. I can do simple accounting as easily as design and making of items. As it happened, the shoe shop was open to the vacation homes rental place next door and they called me in there, so, I went in, talked to the owner, filled in the application, and returned it.

I shall be very interested to see which 'sticks', especially as I had some trouble finding Lissa and Kurt at our tiny Second Saturday Art Fair at the nascent Community Center, and thought at one point, 'well, maybe I should just leave'.
